Relax It’s Friday with Deb Valder
Hidy Ho Stampers,
July 10, 2020. TGIF!!!! So Relax It’s Friday! woooo hoooo!! This stamping combo (stamp set and dies included) is so adorable and we all have friends we can send this too. Stress is high now so why not send some of your friends a card to help them RELAX!!!!
Unwind Combo (stamp and die set)
Look at all the texture on this card. I just love texture on a card don’t you?!
The sentiment is included in the combo along with two dies (the bear and the words RELAX)
So…..let’s take a good look at this card….
I stamped the bear on watercolor paper, cut him out with the matching die and colored it in with our FANTASTIC watercolor pencils. When I use my watercolor pencils, I always nest them together so I have a full pallet of color (the set of pencils is nested inside the top of the next container).
These pencils are highly pigmented watercolors. The beauty of these is that they are sorted by category (it helps you decide which container to use if you need to). For this card I used a good share from the Hair & Skin Tones box but also used some from the others. You can pick from 5 different pans (or just get all of them because as crafters, we always need it all :0) – they are so affordable. I love the softness and coloring with these pencils – this is Teaspoon of Fun’s top pick for watercolor pencils – we’ve tested a lot of them out there. It’s so RELAXING (the theme of today’s card)!
Dark Shadows Watercolour Pencils
Brilliantly Vibrant Watercolour Pencils
Elementary Midtones Watercolour Pencils
Pastel Highlights Watercolour Pencils
Hair and Skin Tones Watercolour Pencils
Did you know that you can get even MORE vibrant color by taking the color directly from the pencil to your brush. You are picking up STRONG DIRECT color!
Now take a look at the couch! How did I do that? It’s called Paper Piecing. Stamp the image onto a piece of Designer Paper.
Cut it out with the Die. Take the bear you cut out and snip off the couch pieces (you are cutting out the bear keeping the mug pillow and remote attached). Lay him on the couch and wah lah! You have a designer couch. I used my favorite paper pack called Fabulous Florals Designer Paper.
Cut a piece of watercolor paper 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″ . Do a blue “wash” for the background. Take water and saturate your paper then add a little blue from your pencil to your brush and add to the background.
For “RELAX” I cut out the words 4 times and layered. It gives it even more texture!. Now just put it all together. I used my White Foam Tape to pop the frame.
What did you think? Relax it’s Friday! Put your feet up and enjoy the weekend.
