Black and White and Oscar all over with Deb Valder

Hidy Ho Stampers,

What a magificent day yesterday.  I had my Team Get Together here in Ballston Spa New York and although they are always fun, this one was SUPER fun.  It was Oscar Day.  Every year at our February get together, we celebrate the milestones that our group has achieved with an Oscar Party!  Complete with red carpet and awards! There were lots of awards given out.  It was so much fun. I gave them a few ideas before they came – food/clothing/swaps – black and white!  Okay here are a few things they came up with but I will have to say Deanna has to be the winner of the cutest!

So here is my swap.  The theme for this month we had to work from a "Sketch" and had to come up with a card for that sketch:

Envelope Punch Board Bow with Spiral Spins 1

of course it's black and white

Envelope Punch Board Bow with Spiral Spins 2

and of course there is a "Black Tie" for the Oscars :0)

with an Envelope Punh Board Bow!

Oscars Swag Bag

the table was set complete with Swag Bags

Oscars Red Carpet

the RED carpet was rolled

Oscar Food 2

the stars were aligned

(and the cupcakes were even BLACK AND WHITE)

. Oscar food 1

the food was ready for us to dig in

AND THE WEINER (or Winner) is…

make sure you read the entire foil (FROM TOP TO BOTTOM)

Oscars and the Weiner is 1

get it "and the OSCAR WEINER IS…"

Oscar (like the hot dogs)

weiner (winner)

Deanna, you are hysterical!!!!

Oscars and the Weiner is 2

and they were delicious!!!

I do have the best team ever and we have so much fun.  Everyone pitches in and it all comes together.  We meet here in Ballston Spa once a month but we do have team members all over the country.  Thank you to everyone for all you do to make this a fun group to be in!  You always make me laugh.

Each of the 40 Oscar Guests got to take home their very own Swag Bag that I made with the Envelope Punch Board.  I used the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper.  They came out cute and were filled with lots of sparkly stuff!

Oscar Swag Bag 3

Willy Wonka Golden Nugget

Everyone also received a "nugget".

But there was only ONE GOLDEN NUGGET!

and the winner received a new Stampin' Up! Rotary Trimmer.

Don't you just love the Oscars???  I'm so excited that Lupita won for best supporting actress, she is so cute and so deserved it.  I just love her.  Like I said when I started out, it was an amazing day!

So here is the video to show you how to make the Envelope Punch Board Swag Bag.  If you are viewing this in your email, click here to see it.

and here are the written measurements…

Bag

1.  Start with a piece of 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper

2.  On the Envelope Punch Board punch and score at 1 1/2"

3.  Turn 90 degrees and punch and score at the 3" mark

4.  Turn 90 degrees and punch and score at the 1 1/2" mark

5.  Turn 90 degrees and punch and score at the 3" mark

6.  Flip your designer paper over

7.  Match up the 1 1/2" score with the one you've already done on the previous side –

now punch and score (matching the earlier scored line (they will now meet).

**you will have a 1 1/2" punch and a 3" punch on one side turn and you will have the same.

8.  Turn 90 degrees and punch and score at the 3" mark

9.  Turn 90 degrees and punch and score at the 1 1/2" mark

10.  Turn 90 degrees and punch and score at the 3" mark

11.  Join the notches (so you have flaps now)

12. Round the two larger corners

13.  Cut the scored lines REMEMBER to leave an edge on the skinny sides.

14.  Glue together

15.  push in three of the four flaps

16.  push in the sides and bring the back flap over for the cover

Thank you for stopping by, follow me on all social media….just find me by googling Deb Valder or stampladee.

Card

1.  Card Base is Whisper White and cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2"

2.  Basic Black is 4" x 5 1/4"

3.  Whisper White is 3 3/4" x 5"

4.  The stamp set used is Spiral Spins (#133303 Wood or #133306 Clear Mount), stamp three of those on Whisper White and punch out with 1 3/8" circle.  Also punch out three Basic Black 1 3/4" circles (I punch the out of the black layer before it's glued on – wah lah you save paper :0).

5.  Do an Envelope Punch Board Bow (see my YouTube video on it).

5.  Stamp the word "Enjoy" from the stamp set Simply Celebrate (#133221 wood or #133224 clear mount)

6.  Add a pearl to your bow and we are done!
