Hidy Ho Stampers,
Today it is gorgeous here in the Northeast! I love Fall weather. Don't you?!!!! Crsip and clean! Leaves changing.
The card that I'm posting is a technique I learned from one of the demonstrators at our team meeting (thank you Pat). She did this as one of the make and takes. Just when you think you know it all, someone comes up with something so SPECTACULAR! It's called Faux Metal or Faux Patina. The colors you use can determine what type of metal you will come out with. Here is my card:
The Faux Patina technique is supposed to mimic aged metal or metal that has been oxidized. It can be used with different colors to get whatever look you deisre.
Brayer the smooth side of the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder with Crumb Cake and run a piece of white or vanilla cardstock through the Big Shot. Burnish card stock (not sponge but burnish) cardstock Marina Mist leaving some white areas, follow with Always Artichoke to some some areas and a little Early Espresso to tone it down (DO NOT OVERDO THE EARLY ESPRESSO). Make sure all white areas are covered. Let cardstock dry (you can hit with a heat gun).
Tap a few of the raised areas with a versamark pad and add Pewter embossing powder. Tap off excess powder. You don't want too much emobssing powder. Heat emboss. Step back and say ewooooooo aaaaaaah.
For an aged copper look – Brayer with Soft Suede and burnish with Pacific Point, Always Artichoke and a little Early Espresso. Finallyt burnish a little Cajun Craze here and there to get a little copper look. Use Gold Embossing Powder.
If you need any of the supplies above, just go to my online store at www.stampladee.stampinup.net and shop til you drop. You can shop 24/7. Each online order will get your name in the hat for a drawing at the end of the month! Good luck.
Hope you enjoyed my post.
