You Quack Me Up
Hidy Ho Stampers,
February 20, 2021. Today I have a Slimline card for you. I wanted to show you how I used one of our brand new embossing folders for a background. It’s a 3D folder and looks amazing and is part of our Lucky Ducky Combo. Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today…
Remember, it doesn’t have to be hard, it doesn’t have to be complicated, just fun and thoughtful. All products can be found in our Teaspoon of Fun Shoppe.
Lucky Ducky COMBO (includes the Wave Embossing Folder)
The Lucky Ducky Combo is a GREAT deal (all our combos are – you save so much money) but if you want to purchase one without the other here are the links to them separately:
NEW Slimline Decorative Rectangle Aperture Trio
Distress Oxide Inks (all links are below in the menu)
Silicone Brush Cleaners (really helps clean your blending brushes)
Slimline Card Bases (package of 10)
Slimline Envelopes (package of 10)
I used Copics to color (all links are below in the menu)
Eyes: B00
Duck: Yo2, Y13, YR04, YR04, YR18
Blue Flowers: B00, B02, B97
Yellow Flower: Y02, Y15, YR04
Pail: C1, C3, C5, E00, E33, E37
Grass & Stems: YG00, YG13, YG67
I used Spectrum Noir Vibrant Florals Glitter Pens to color in the centers of the flowers and the orange flowers in the pail. Can you see the glitter? It’s hard to capture the color and how they glisten but trust me, they are so pretty! As people always say, they are prettier in person!
For the background I used our brand NEW embossing folder from our Lucky Ducky Combo (includes the Wave Embossing Folder). Look at that gorgeous depth. Here’s the “how to” on this….
I cut my paper 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. I took my Mini Mister and sprayed the cardstock on one side VERY LIGHTLY (you don’t want to over saturate the paper). Then you can run it through your die cut machine. This is a 3D folder so you need to get the right sandwich going through the machine (each machine is different). When it comes out, let it dry or hit it with the heat tool to dry it.
I then burnished with my Distress Oxide Inks (all Links are below) – I used Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers. First burnish with the Mowed Lawn then with the Peacock Feathers. Make sure you blend them together. Then I cut two pieces 2 3/4″ x 5 1/2″. One of the pieces I cut to fit the bottom square and the other piece fit perfectly on the top two squares. Put your Foam Strips on the Decorative Rectangle Aperture Trio and add the embossed waves to this layer. Next glue this layer to the Slimline Card Bases.
I popped my Puffy Clouds, duck and flower on with foam squares (I used our NEW MICRO SQUARES for the leaves on the flowers). If you don’t have the micro squares, YOU NEED THEM!!!! They work so well!
I stamped the You Quack Me up and cut it out “banner style” and added that with foam squares. BOOM….that’s it! This card just “quacks” me up! ha ha ha It’s sure to put a smile on someone’s face!
I hope you liked my card share for today! Thank you for letting me come into your home and spend a little crafty time with you! It’s so much fun sharing what is such a passion. Happy Crafting today!
Remember to share it, pin it, buy it and let us know what you think.
(((Hugs)))
