Simple Watercolor Nature’s Glory
Hidy Ho Stampers,
July 13, 2023. Today Teaspoon of Fun is bringing you a very pretty watercolor piece. If you received the “What’s New Wednesday” yesterday, then you’ve seen the card I’m talking about and saw that there is a freebie available for a limited time. It’s super simple to make and you can watercolor along with me while you watch the video.
Click the image above or CLICK HERE to start watching…it’s fast and so much fun!
Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today…
Stampwheel Center Alignment Guides
Sprinkles Scallops Rectangle Nesting Dies
Distress Oxide Ink (I used Peacock Feathers)
Here are some basic watercolor items that are good to have on hand.
Tombow Markers I used for this are below.
Watercolor Paw Palette OR Watercolor Floral Palette
Paintbrush Rest – you pick the ones you want – aren’t they so cute!
Watercolor Accessory Kit – It’s a great beginners kit.
Bonnie’s Favorites #1 and/or Bonnie’s Favorites #2
Here are the colors of markers I used for this card if you want to purchase them individually….
Get all your supplies together and let’s get started. Make sure you watch the video!!!!
After you color the Nature’s Glory Stamp Set with your markers, it will look like this. Make sure you use your Stampendable to press down on the STAMPWHEEL to transfer all the color onto your Watercolor Paper. Next it’s time to soften the colors.
Lay your card on your STAMPWHEEL that comes with a Sticky Mat or purchase an extra Stampwheel Sticky Mat like I have. It holds down your Watercolor Paper, no need to use sticky tape. It’s SOOOOOOO worth it!! I also use the Tim Holtz Media Grip Mat alllllll the time to do my “messy” work on – actually I do ALL my work on it all the time! It’s a must for me. It cleans up so easy and it’s the perfect size for your craft space. It’s so worth it!!!!!
Here I’m showing you how I used the Acetate Sheets cut from the Sprinkles Scallops Rectangle Nesting Dies to make a frame. Then I used our Distress Oxide Ink – Peacock Feathers – and my Blending Brushes to softly lay down a frame.
Here is one of my favorite parts …. laying on the white flecks of color. To do this I used a Soft Bristle Toothbrush, Media Palette Knife and my Luma Bleed Proof White. Put just a little Luma Bleed Proof White into your Watercolor Paw Palette (add a smidgen of water ONLY if you need it, you don’t want it too runny) and flick those bristles. It’s so much fun to see them just splatter around! I LOVE THIS LOOK.
Using your Stacked Thinking of You Die cut three of them out of black card stock. Adhere them together with our Deluxe Adhesive. Add them to your card with the Deluxe Adhesive also. View the video to see how I used my Fine Tip Tweezers and Retractable Pick.
This Watercolor Paper is cut at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ which is a true quarter sheet of card stock or the same size as an A2 card. I put EZ Grand Tape Runner on the back and adhered it to a card base. It is absolutely gorgeous. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial today!
