Looking Glass Sunflower Card
Hidy Ho Stampers,
March 18, 2022. Today’s card from Teaspoon of Fun is part of a series of Looking Glass Dies we have in the shop. You may have seen our Looking Glass Birthday Party and the Looking Glass Winter Forest dies we have already shown you. Today’s is a gorgeous spring version. Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today…
I’m going to show you three different versions using this same die but the possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!
This one only uses TWO of the THREE dies!
Looking Glass Circle & Square Frames
Copic Markers
Let’s take a look at this NEW unique series of dies that are a combo…
Each Looking Glass combo has three dies that you can mix, match and put in any order. For the Looking Glass Bee and Flowers set, we have sunflowers, leaves and a bee! I started by cutting 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares THREE times, centering the die in each of these squares and cut out each piece. I cut them out of our Marshmallow Fluff White and colored with Copics but you can cut out colored cardstock to make it even faster!
For the background on this one I did some “watercolor splash”! Tape your 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ Watercolor Paper down to your Make Art Stay-tion with the Sticky Note Tape Roll. Take your 1″ Square Brush and dip it into your Paw Palette with water from your Silicone Dispenser. “Wash” your paper thoroughly with this clean water. Now pick up some colors from your Altenew Pans and just dab them on your paper. If you need it a little wetter, use your Mini Mister to get some more moisture on your cardstock. Use your Tim Holtz Ink Blower to spider out the color. Let that dry. When it’s dry pick up some colors from the Altenew Metallic Pans and drop them on your paper leaving just speckles! SOOOOOOOO pretty!
Use your Looking Glass Circle & Square Frames and cut a square for the frame. I ran this one through the Lumber 3D Embossing Folder to give it that “wood” look! To assemble: I glued the watercolor background to the leaves with our 1/8 Double Sided Sticky Tape. Set aside. I glued the sunflowers to the frame also using our 1/8 Double Sided Sticky Tape. Now adhere these two layers together with our THIN White Foam Squares. Add this to your card layer.
To finish, I stamped the beautiful sentiment from Blooming Sentiments.
For this one I used our Mini Slimline Card Base and ALL THREE LAYERS!
Copic Markers to color (all links are below in menu)
For this one I used:
The assembly for this card is the same as above!
I used all three layers for this card.
And for this one, I TOTALLY did something different! I used the dies for a slimline!
Let’s take a look….
I cut a piece of our Marshmallow Fluff cardstock 2 1/2″ x 7 1/4″ and centered all three dies before I cut them out.
To adhere this to the Blue Violet Sparkle Paper I used our 3D White Foam Strips. It’s one long window!! But remember you can do this with just two of the dies also making it a Mini Slimline! ha ha ha
Cute little bumble bee!
