Hidy Ho Stampers,

Our Let It Snow Die was cut from two layers of Marshmallow Fluff Card Stock and one layer of our Iridescent White Glitter Paper.  One of my favorite nesting dies is called Stitches of Love.  There are 5 different dies that have 5 different designs on them.  Very unique and lots of fun. I cut this die for the frame from our Pearl White Card Stock.

For the Ear Muffs and the snow on the branches I used our  Glitter Drops – I used White Blizzard.  It’s a chunky glitter that doesn’t end up all over your room when you sneeze like glitter does!  The glue and the glitter are married together!  SO easy!.

TECHNIQUE…..

  1.  For this card I stamped and colored with Copic Markers.
  2. THEN comes the BACKGROUND!!!!  I love the way I did this and I really like the technique.  I put a few drops of  Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide REINKER into one of our Paw Palettes and added a little water from one of our Silicone Dispensers.  Mix it up and using our #4 Brush.
  3. I carefully colored around the bird and tree limb.  Next I used our 1″ Large Brush to finish coloring the background.  Let it dry – this is important – let it dry.
  4. Now take your #1 Brush   and pick up some water on the brush.  Tap the brush (like you would a cigarette) to add droplets of water onto the card.  Don’t worry about getting the Copic part wet, it doesn’t do anything to the alcohol markers (I wouldn’t try to get the bird wet but it won’t harm the bird)!
  5. I also added some dots using our  White Gel Pen.
  6. I didn’t end there….I put some of our Luma Bleed Proof White  into our Paw Palette.    Use the END of either the #1 Brush or the #4 Brush  (not the brush end but the wooden handle end), dip it into the Luma and dab it onto the background.  The dot size will be determined by the amount of pressure you put on the brush when you dab it onto the background.
  7. You say WHY is she doing so many different types of dots!?  I can answer that….it’s because each one gives the background a different look.  The “water tap” gives a bocca look; the White Gel Pen is very tiny and very white and the Luma gives it is a raised white look.  It’s all about depth and gorgeousness!  :0)

This card is filled with dimension!!!  I used the White Blizzard Glitter Drops for his ear muffs.  Then used the Fluffy Stuff for the snow on the branches.  I topped it off with the Gloss Simply White Crystal Drops for the snowflakes.

This little guy was also colored with Copic Markers.

They say the vibrant red Cardinal is an uplifting, happy sign that those we have lost will live forever, so long as we keep their memory alive in our hearts. As cardinals sing their pleasant song, people may recall cherished memories of better times.  (((hugs)))
