Butterfly Border Peekaboo Card

Since this is the season of butterflies here in the northeast, today we are featuring one of our butterfly border dies. Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today…
Instead of using the border die on a regular A2 card (which it looks gorgeous also), I decided to make it a Peekaboo Window card on this slimline card. Butterfly season is upon us here in the northeast!
Wink of Stella Single and/or Wink of Stella 3-Pack
Look how beautiful this is!
I decided to use our Frosted Lake Dream Drops instead of pearls (they are gorgeous) on the butterflies!
So how did I do it?
For this card I did mount it on a Slimline Card Base.
I used a 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ layer and cut out the butterflies by centering it from top to bottom and just off to the right.
I used a ruler to cut the image to form a rectangle around the butterflies then cut the card layer with the Slimline Stitched Rectangles to give it some pizzazz!
This is a 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock that I layered on the front of the card base. You need to cut an opening in this layer so you can see through the card. I traced a few small lines around the butterflies so I know where to place the larger rectangle. Now take one of the larger rectangles and cut it out.
This is the inside of the card to show you how it should look. I also put a 3 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ on the INSIDE of the card. You can see that the rectangle is not too much bigger than the butterflies. The Slimline Stitched Rectangles work excellent for this card style.
This is what it looks like when it’s closed! GORGEOUS!
I took a scrap piece of our Marshmallow Fluff card stock and cut out the border on this scrap piece to use the pop-on butterflies. I had to trim around them but it was easy peasy and it matches exactly! I added a little Wink of Stella Single and/or Wink of Stella 3-Pack to the butterflies for a little glitz and we had a masterpiece!
On each of the butterflies I used our Frosted Lake Dream Drops. This is a brand new color in our shop. It is a GORGEOUS color!
If you have all our other Dream Drops, we also added two others this summer – Lemon Twist and Enchanted Elixir
– make sure you have them all! Our line of Nuvo Drops is amazing. You have a bottle of “pearls” that will last a lifetime so you don’t run out.
