Well yesterday I celebrated my 52nd birthday from before I opened my eyes (Kevin ran out and got me Dunkin Donuts coffee- my absolute favorite coffee – so I'd have it when I woke up – how sweet is that?) right up until I went to bed! It was awesome. I'm HAPPY to be celebrating EVERY birthday these days so I LOVED the 52nd. Here are only a few of my gifts…I had handmade gifts (stamped of course) and handstamped cards. I had visits from very special friends and the phone rang off the hook all day (Katie called FIVE times) and my son Jonathan and my friend Lauren joined us for dinner…it was just awesome! Thank you to everyone that helped me realize just how special birthdays are!
But now…what you've all been waiting for. Anyone that knows Kevin, he is a huge part of my Stampin' Up! business! He's been making those templates that I showcased earlier in my blog using the Big Shot folders. Well, he ALWAYS handstamps me a card for every occasion. I will have to say and he admits, some are better than others. NONE were as awesome as the one last year…he impressed EVERYONE with that one. I will show you that one at a later date but just to let you know, that one was a rotating card that, as he says "He built from scratch." Here is the one he made for me this year. He used his OWN template, figured out all the "sandwiches" for my Big Shot and came up with this…
Isn't this the cutest dang card? He used the Petals a Plenty folder from the Holiday Mini catalog (see previous post to learn how to purchase YOUR template and Kevin will cut it for free). Then he cut (not sure what tool he used to do that) but he cut ovals in the Whisper White cardstock and the Pretty In Pink cardstock. He then took a picture OFF THE WALL of me when I was a baby, yes that is me when I was little and he photocopied it and put it behind the ovals that we are still trying to figure out how he cut into the cardstock (I'm sure it was some BIG tool in the basement). He added some Vintage Brads and did all his layering. I just LOVE his color combo! :0) He's so proud and he should be! Thank you to everyone…what a special day.
