Don't you just love Halloween? I do! I love all the costumes (well maybe not all of them) and the candy and decorations, I just love it. Since my kids are all grown I don't get to make the costumes any more but I still decorate and eat all the candy. ANNNNDD now I get to make all kinds of things to show you stampers. I just a had a really cute Big Shot Class using the pillow box die and made these adorable buckets.
Happy Halloween!
And now that my kids are grown, I send them to them. Here is a picture of my daughter with her college roommates after they opened up the Halloween box.
Okay, so how do you make them?
1. Cut three pillow boxes using the same color with your Big Shot machine.
2. Using sticky strip adhere the sides together, the flap that is scored should have the sticky strip and it will get glued together with the side that has no flap. When you get to the end, glue them together to make a cylinder.
3. On the bottom of your piece, you will cut off the ends to make just a curve – just follow the score marks. Look at the ghost above for an example.
4. On the top, you will cut every other one to make a little beveled edge. Look at the Pumpkin top to see an example.
5. Sponge all the seams with coordinating ink.
6. Strips for the bottom – cut three 1" x 5" strips and score them at a half inch on each side. Bend them and put them in the bottom of the cylinder so the flaps are facing down.
7. For the handle, I used an 11 x 3/4" piece of cardstock. I punched a hole in the side of the cylinder with my horizontal slot punch (note: you will need to punch more than one hole to get it big enough to fit the 3/4" handle). You do this by punching once and moving it over a little and punching it agin. WahLah! the hole is big enough.
8. Wrap the handle up and fix it with a brad on the outside
9. Next you decorate your bucket!
Here are the items used to make these boxes.
