Idyllic Happy and Peaceful Flowers
Hidy Ho Stampers,
June 5, 2024. Today Teaspoon of Fun is bringing you a gorgeous card using one of our new stamps called Idyllic and a technique called “no-line coloring”. I used watercolor for this one but there are so many possibilities for this stamp!
Head on over to Teaspoon of Fun for all your paper crafting needs
and share this site with your friends!
Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today…
Distress Oxide – Antique Linen
For this card I used our Mini Slimline Card Bases and stamped directly onto the card base. It was hard for me not to layer this card because I love layers but I’m so pleased with the way it came out – it’s so clean and simple. I used our Stampwheel and stamped the Idyllic Stamp using our Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink. Why did I use the Distress Oxide ink? Because in no-line coloring you need a neutral color for the base so you can see what to color. I LOVE using Antique Linen because it blends nicely with the oxides. Now begin to color. It’s fast and fun.
I like to start at the top and color to the bottom. I used Altenew Watercolor Pans to color this one. But you could use pencils, that’s also just amazing.
I like leaving just a little of the Antique Linen showing. It blends so nicely.
I used our Black Thank You Greeting Tabs for the sentiment. These are new to the shop. We have so many to choose from. The one I used has 40 Black greeting tabs gold foiled “Thank You”. 4 each of 10 designs. 1.75 x 0.25 inch each tab. To find all we have, type in “Greeting Tabs” in the search box. They are pre-foiled and a thick stock.
Add your card to one of our Mini Slimline Envelopes and mail it off to your dear friend.

I think this is a lovely card except for the black sentiment strip. For me, it detracts from the softness and gentleness of
the card design itself. If it were me, I would put the sentiment inside and let the flower speak for itself.
if I were to add anything to the card, i mght use a very delicate embossing pattern (VERY delicate)
coming out from the top left corner a bit towards the flower and on the lower right corner as well, giving
the card a bit more depth with out losing the focal point of the flower.
Or using a little buffed color the same way on those two corners to give depth. I would leave the sentiment to
the inside so that the flower on the front would be the focal point w a gentle greeting in itself.
