Hi stampers,
Oh my gosh…I received a Blog Award today!!! I didn't even realize anyone ever looked at my blog but WOWZER, I guess there are a few out there!!! Thank you.
Oh my gosh…how exciting. I need to explain all that but it's late tonight and I've been getting ready to go to Nashville this week. Wash done, house cleaned, spaghetti and meatballs made for those staying behind and all packed and ready to go!!! YIPPPEEE…anyway, I will figure it all out and post about my Award in the next couple of days!!! Thank You LeeAnn Greff
who nominated me for this very awasome award!!! Oh my gosh.
Okay do you recognize this word??? "SCHERENSCHNITTE" Many Many Many years ago (and I reeeeeeally mean MANY years ago), I used to do a craft called Scherenschnitte. It's a paper craft. Perhaps the hardest aspect of Scherenschnitte is learning to pronounce (and spell!) the German name for this ancient craft of cutting paper into decorations. I like to say "if you can say it, you can do it"! It means scissors' cuttings in German. These decorations include silhouettes; scenes; gift cards and gift embellishments; Christmas decoration and more. Here is what it looks like:
ahhhhhhh NOW do you recognize it? Maybe you had your children's pictures done in silhouetes. Why am I telling you all this? Am I getting back into this craft…NOT…I love to stamp and scrapbook!! But I AM telling you this because our new Easter Blossoms Stamp Set on page 17 of our New Ocassions Mini reminds me of this craft.
Look at this card, doesn't it look like Scherenschnitte?
This picture does NOT do this card justice. I tried to get the detail but it was impossible! There is an embossed edge all the way around with Basic Pearls on each tulip, before putting the pearls on I lightly sponged the tulips with white craft ink. I wanted to point out the silhouette of the girl. NOW does it look like Scherenschnitte?! I think so.
PS The little paper cuttings that appear on the floor and in your lap while Scherenschnitting are called "Schnit-lets"! hee hee hee…..
I hope you liked my post tonight. Take care and check back soon.
