Distressed Oxide – Antique Linen

Let’s take a look at how I did it……
I started by stamping my outline image with Antique Linen Distressed Oxide ink onto my Watercolor Paper. Why? Why did I used Distress Oxide and why didn’t I use black. This is a form of “no-line coloring” meaning you don’t need to see the lines after you are done stamping and coloring. I like Distress Oxide because it blends with your watercolors and it’s a light color.
Then I started coloring with my Altenew Watercolor Pans. I used both my #4 Watercolor Brush and my #1 Watercolor Brush. I filled my Paw Palette (or Flower Palette) with water from my Silicone Dispenser. Pick up water from the well then add a little color at a time and blend it in. Use the #4 for most of the coloring and the #1 brush for the details.
I added more detail with my Nuvo Dark Shadows Watercolor Pencils and Nuvo Brilliantly Vibrant Watercolor Pencils )we have 5 different sets (all listed below in menu). It just adds a little detail to the flowers and stems. If you use Watercolor Pencils, you really do need a good pencil sharpener. Here is the one I use…

I added a beautiful sentiment from a set we have in the shop called Comforted Sentiments.
After I was done coloring and stamping, I cut the piece from our Sprinkles Scallops Rectangle Dies. I’m in LOVE with this die! Take a look at our Dazzling Daffodils and our Iris Elegance stamp sets.
Water coloring is so much fun!
