Spring Begins with Butterfly Swell

March 20, 2023. HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING (we are still buried in snow here in Upstate New York)!! This is a stunning and very simple card. It’s what we call “clean and simple”. White on white with a little color. Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today…

Pearls
Bonnie’s Favorites #1 and Bonnie’s Favorites #2
I popped the Butterfly Swell with our White Foam Tape
we also have Black Foam Tape.
For the inside of the card I added this sentiment – Live Life In Full Color
Instead of using an ink pad I used my markers from Bonnie’s Favorites #1 and Bonnie’s Favorites #2 to apply the color.
To make the striped background, you need to cut strips 1/4″ strips of cardstock. I used pastels for this card. Then apply a generous amount of our EZ Runner Tape to the card layer. Make sure your card layer is completely filled so the strips hold.
I start in the middle. The strip needs to go from end to end. Then continue to add on both sides…
until your card is completely full.
This is what it looks like when you turn it over to the front.
Use your cutter and start trimming the “hangovers”.
This is what it looks like when it is done. Ready to add to your card.
It reminds me of this gum. Does anyone remember this gum?!

Wasn’t that fun?! I like using this background technique for all colors. It’s not only fun but a beautiful technique also. Definitely give it a try to add color to your world (and card)! :0) (((hugs)))
