Spooky Halloween Tree House
Hidy Ho Stampers,
September 8, 2022. Today’s Teaspoon of Fun’s card share is using some of our NEW Halloween products. It is FILLED with color and it LIGHTS UP! Before we look at that card, I wanted to let you know that we are running a FANTASTIC flower sale. CLICK HERE to see all that is included in this once in a lifetime sale.
Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today…
This card LIGHTS UP!!!
(I used Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet and the NEW Villanious Potion)
I paired the Mini Slim Tree House Die with our EZ Triple Light set for this card. Yes, it LIGHTS UP!!! I placed one of the lights in the door and the other two lights in the windows. If you haven’t used these lights before, watch the quick video below for the three light tutorial. I also have a video to show you how to use the SINGLE EZ LIGHT (Watch the video below).
They are so easy and fun to use.

Let’s take a look at how I put this together….
Cut out a tree house in white and one in black. You will use the white “negative” for your background and you will use the black for the actual house.
Take the white piece and burnish some color on using our Distress Oxide Ink Pads (I used Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet and the NEW Villanious Potion) with our Blending Brushes.
We need to add some Vellum Card Stock to the back of the house. I traced the house and cut it just a little bit smaller so it fits behind the house. I used the Yellow Gold marker from Bonnies’ Favorites #2 Markers to color the velum.
I used our Deluxe Adhesive to attach the vellum.
Easy Peasy!
We are now going to lay the tree house into the “negative” layer. After doing that use some regular clear tape to adhere it together.
When you lay it on your Slimline Card Base you are going to see some white.
With a pencil, lightly sketch some spots we need to burnish.
Burnish some color into these spots.
Position your EZ Lights and tape down with just some clear tape. On the BACK of the clicker (make sure the “clicker” side is facing the front of the card, not facing you), add some Small Glue Dots to the top side of the mechanism (this will be adhered to the card base). Line up the card base with the top layer and adhere together. (the Glue Dots will hold the mechanism down). Add your White Foam Tape to outline the frame.
The clicker mechanism for my card is right underneath the X (that X is for the door – don’t worry about this showing, I put the ghost over it for the clicker)
Make sure you test it before going to the next step!
Cut out a set of ghosts and BOO from the Boo Die stamp set. Stamp “press me” from the Interactively Yours Stamp Set. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new set! I LOVE IT!!!!!! Add your “press me” ghost with Deluxe Adhesive. Add the others with Regular White Foam Squares and Micro White Foam Squares.
Water down the Brilliance Moonlight Re-inker using one of our Palettes and water from our Silicone Dispenser. I picked up the ink with our #4 Watercolor Brush and tapped it onto the card. You can also tap some clear water onto the piece. I then took my Wink of Stella and dabbed some dots of that for the BEST background ever!
Some other tools I used that you should have in your craft room are…
and the adhesives I used….
