This post is a little out of the ordinary from what you are used to from me but I just want to shout it from the highest mountain! I’m 10 years cancer free today! Yip Hip Hoooooray! Please leave a comment today and let me know you are having a good day!
Wow, this is my year of milestones! November 23rd I turned 60. Boy am I glad of that!!! August 5th Kevin and I were married 40 years! 25 years ago on August 13th we moved into the second house Kevin built for us. But my BIGGEST milestone this year is today! August 22nd, 2018 I hit my 10 years of being cancer free. For anyone that has had that diagnosis and survived, you KNOW what an important date that is!!! It’s HUGE!! It’s the number you look for, it’s the number you pray for!
So I’m sitting here and thinking about what has happened over the last 10 years and how blessed I am to BE sitting here. I’m thinking of all my family and friends that fought that battle before me and how they helped me through what was to come each and every day with each and every test and finally on the day of surgery. I think of my friends that are currently going through this tough time and how I can help them as others helped me. I can’t help but think of all my friends that lost their battle and wonder why I didn’t.
I don’t think that anyone can truly understand what it is to go through unless you yourself have gotten that diagnosis. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family first and foremost (Kevin was my rock), my three amazing children, my mom and all the friends that helped us out. I’m thinking of all that has happened in the last 10 years that I would have missed!!!! …my children graduating from college and seeing them so successful. I would have missed that. Seeing both my sons get married and I would have never known my daughter-in-laws – two of the most amazing women I know! I would have never seen my two grandbabies…oh my gosh, I would have missed all of that. I would never have heard the word “nana”. But I beat it…I may not look the same but I’m alive and forever grateful to have these last 10 and hope for 10+ more. I hope you have a great day today because I KNOW I will!!!!
and because a blog post from me wouldn’t be a blog post unless I brought in my stamping because stamping HAS BEEN a huge part of my last 19 years and YES I NEVER stopped stamping during my cancer and treatments! It actually got me through some rough days with the help of my friends! This card was created by me in 2009 it was my VERY FIRST BLOG POST EVER and it was one year that I was cancer free!!!!
Thank you for all you’ve all done for me throughout the years. I try to be humble and kind and I try to always take your thoughts and needs into consideration. Stay with me, I have a LOT more to come!!!

Congrats on 10 years of cancer free. I am THANKFULLY celebrating 15 years now that I am cancer free. I feel especially blessed as I lost my oldest brother to liver cancer and next to oldest to lung cancer. I feel a positive attitude is one of the things that really helps and “think happy” is one of my life time themes. Have been making cards for almost 20 years now and love every minute of it. Totally enjoy your ideas. Keep up the good ideas. Thanks for all!
