Hidy Ho Stampers,
I debated on publishing this blog post because these kits sold out so fast but then people were asking me how I did the Pilgrim hat so decided to show it. I have a few of these hats left and I thought maybe some of you did also. So here it goes…
Here is the witching Hat and the Pilgrim Hat!
For my class I put out a few “treats”
and we began to work…
I had several classes (and I even dressed up)!
Did I ever tell you how much I LOVE HALLOWEEN?
Our finished Halloween Hat
I don’t use Photopolymer stamps so I modified.
The bell was my favorite part of it.
too stinken cute!
Then on another night we did the Pilgrim Hat!
Isn’t that cute – I transformed the Witches Hat
into the Pilgrim hat…
not using Photopolymer stamps, I substituted…
you’re going to cut off the top of the hat
and roll the spider webs to the inside
adhere just like the witches hat
form it around the Styrofoam
for the rim use two strips of the black glimmer paper
adhere together and around the hat
I used Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive
then cut up the burlap and place that around the hat rim
with your circle framelits, cut out a black circle
and a circle out of cardboard
with your fringe scissors, cut around the black circle
glue it to the inside top of the hat
and now you have your pilgrim hat
I sure wish they hadn’t sold out of them, this was too cute!
Thank you for stopping by! Love you guys!
Rsadly I only purchased one kit….had I known you had done this, I would have gone for another one! But you have now inspired me to find still paper and will try to make a Pilgrim’s hat for they year! Thanks for sharing your instructions!
That was supposed to read, sadly….to try to find stiff paper….for next year…sorry!
thank you carol. I had videos and documentation to support the videos but they ran out of them in less than two weeks. :0( This was such a cute project. If you have any questions, let me know. deb http://www.stampladee.stampinup.net for all your shopping needs.
:0) Thank you Carol!
Hi Deb, I love the Pilgrim’s Hat! What a great idea! I’m curious…why don’t you use photopolymer stamps?
Also, A giant congrats for your latest sales milestone!
Fabulous idea to create a Pilgrim’s Hat – too cute! I’m also curious as to why you don’t use photopolymer stamps.
hi Robin. I don’t use Photopolymer stamps because of what they are made of. They also have a shelf life of about 5 years then start to break down. They do stretch out and lose their shape also. Too many things can go wrong for the money. Thank you for stopping by! deb
