Hello stamping friends, Wow, we went to bed last night and it was Halloween and today we wake up and it's almost time for Thanksgiving. No rest for the weary! and this time of the year runs faster than any other time. We all know that.
Instead of doing something for Thanksgiving right now, I'm going to show you one of the projects we made in class last month. My very good friend Kim Peck made a card very similar to this for her Founders Swap in September and I fell in love with it instantly. We made the one shown above with just a slight variation.
The unique piece to this card is the middle where the image is stamped. We used the new Petals-A-Plenty template with a modification to it (found in he Holiday Mini Catalog #116824 on page 21) . The outside of the card has the embossed image of the petals and the oval cameo in the center is smooth. How did we do that? There are many ways to make this center but I found an easy way to do it on Patty's blog. My husband made it even easier. He made a templaate and cuts them for anyone who buys the template from me.
This is the form that Kevin uses to cut the ovals out.
Here is what the Petals a Plenty folder (Holiday Mini Catalog pg 21 116824 $7.95) looks like before it is cut and then after it's cut, it's much safer than using the Hobby Blade.
Here is a card I did with the Finial Press folder (page 195 of the main catalog 115963 $7.95) and the For All You Do stamp set (page 118 of the main catalog 115360 for $28.95)
These folders are so much fun to work with. If you are interested in purchasing them or any of the materials shown, please visit my online store. Just click on the Shop Now button above.
