So I was all set up and ready for them to come.
The theme was Red, White and Blue for Flag day
but the florist didn't understand that I wanted Red, White and Blue flowers
They were very pretty but the theme was R,W&B!

And we used the new boxes.
I had the box all designed and then my friend Patsy Waggoner
designed one and put a Creped Filter Paper on hers and I liked it so much
I added one to mine! Check out her video.

Happy Flag Day!!!
I played Betsy Ross's cousin (yep who would have ever known Betsy had a cousin but it was a part in the play so I was happy and my mom made my costume – too cute!) I sat and helped make the flag with the real Betsy.
It's a great 4th grade memory! :0)

Okay Okay I'm back!!! and I've been working on a few really cool things. Today's card shows you how to make your own Chevron pattern using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper. Okay….it's been a rough week but she is home and we get to see her soon!!! Meg and Josh are such good parents already. Who would EVER say "It's so cool when she is mad an screams!!!!" WHO would ever say that…but they can calm her right down. She loves to hear their voice. I can't wait!!!!
Tomorrow is Kevin's birthday (it's okay I tell you this and show you the card I made for him because he NEVER looks at my blog.) Anyway, tomorrow is his birthday and I bought Rascal Flatts tickets for him and I made him this card….
the pearls in the middle of the Butterfly were colored black with a sharpie marker.
I used the NEW Washi Tape (that is so much fun and so easy)
and I used one of our NEW Neutral Candy Dots
Can you see the square behind the butterfly?
That is a clear block just inked up and stamped directly on my paper – how cool is that!?

Simply Pressed Clay with Deb Valder

It's been a pretty rough day here and hard to concentrate on anything. Isabella was put back on oxygen last night. She falls asleep and her oxygen levels go way down. They are doing all kinds of tests on her and still trying to figure out what is wrong. So please continue to pray for this little munchkin.
I was putting in orders as fast as I could today, everyone is taking advantage of the first day of the new catalog. There is still time to get in on all the specials and festivities that I am offering. I have all kinds of give-aways and raffles going on for orders that are put in today. My card for today has to do with the Simply Pressed Clay found on page 167 of the new catalog.
Isn't this cute?! There is a video below to show you how to make the clay flower
but in the meantime, let's look at the rest of the card.
I started out with the sentiment that is made with the
Babywipe Technique. Put a few drops of color
on a babywipe and use this as your stamp pad.
To make the banner, I cut a strip and at one end I used my heart punch
to cut the banner end (clever huh?)
Now for the clay, after molding the clay, you will need to
color it if you didn't do it as in the video. You can
color using a paintbrush and reinkers or you can
use our spritzers filled with water and ink refill.
Watch the vide to see how I "marbled" the clay.
Put the marbled clay in the mold.
pop them out immediately (so you can keep making them)!
Next it's the leaves.
And here are your flowers, the one on the left was spritzed and
the one on the right was colored then molded.

Mosaic Madness Cuteness with Deb Valder

Well I'm so excited to let you know that Isabella is PLUG FREE!!!! Her oxygen was taken off, her Bili-Blanket was taken off and all the other cords and plugs were taken off. The only thing she has left is her port so they can continue to give her the antibiotics she needs!!!! She is getting so much better and she loves to snuggle with her mamma and daddy!!! I can't tell you how much I appreciate all your prayers, they worked (and fast)!

They are still in the NICU but that is becuase of her infection.
Whew….that's a lot of worrying. But keeping me busy is my stamping. I love to stamp and tomorrow is the first day we can order from the new catalog so I've been making my lists. I had a steady stream of gals (and husbands) coming over to pick up their NEW catalogs yesterday. It was fun sitting down with them and looking it over together…they made their lists and handed me orders…I think they are as excited as I am. Remember to check in tomorrow for all the prizes I will be giving away for the FIRST DAY OF CATALOG orders. FUN FUN!
I bound everyone's book for them! It's nice to be my customer!
So I needed a card for Megan's mom and dad (the other grandparents) and this is what I came up with!

but when you try on a new dress, don't you look at the front,
then the back (of course) and the the side!!!)
Well it's the same with cards…they have color, style and curves
that NEED to be looked at from all angles!!!
Okay what is the uniqueness about this card? Look at the ribbon. The 3/8" Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon was dyed. I used a finger dauber and dragged the ribbon over the ink pad to get the color. Do this first before you start the card because it will take a little while for it to dry. I use my pink gloves so I don't get my fingers all ink. Okay Okay so I'm somewhat of a Diva sort of but not really! :0)

Kind & Cozy with Deb Valder

Well it's been quite an emotional weekend. Josh and Meg went into the hospital early Friday morning to have their baby…Isabella Dawn was born the next day! It was hard being so far away but they are so blessed to have each other. So are you ready to see her?
She is adorable!

Right now prayers would be very welcomed. Soon after this picture was taken, she was taken to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) because she had an infection, fluid on her lungs and now has jaundice. I'm happy to say that she is doing much better and her parents are with her every minute. So many of you have been asking so I wanted to send at least one picture along. Right now she has all kinds of cords and gagets attached to her and she is plugged into an outlet! She has this "bili-blanket" on which will help with the jaundice and she glows. I will keep you updated but we are all praying and our prayers are being heard – she is getting better!
While I was pacing this weekend, I grabbed my stamps to keep busy. So today's card is using a new stamp set from the 2013-2014 Stampin' Up Idea Book and Catalog.

Best of Butterflies with Deb Valder

So today's post is all about Butterflies!
Why is it that my cards look so much better in person!!! It's so bright and vibrant but here it just looks "eh"! The butterfly is from the "Best of" series…can you guess what it's called? ha ha ha…It's the "Best of Butterflies"! The words came from one of my favorite vintage sets called "From my Heart"! And today I used my new CANDY DOTS again!!! You are going to fall in LOVE with these!!!!!

Wildflower Meadow with Deb Valder

Whew…nasty storms last night but all is good. I was at Hoosic Valley Continuing Education last night teaching my Rubber Stamping classes and it was a little hairy drving home. I was singing country songs the whole way home…oh dear! Still NO baby but soon! I can't wait.
Wildflower Meadow is becoming my new favorite (this week). You can use so many different techniques with this stamp set and it has a matching folder for instant POP! and dimension.
This card has a Very Vanilla base card cut at 4 1/4" x 11", the top layer is Baked Brown Sugar 4" x 5 1/4".
I used Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink to ink up the stamp BUT before you stamp it onto the matching cardstock, spritz the whole stamp with water. When I did this, it gave the card a watercolor look. After it dries, run it through the matching folder. I popped this on the Very Vanilla base with dimensionals.
Next ink up only one of the flowers. I used Crisp Cantaloupe for the flower and Pistachio Pudding for the stem. Spray this with water and stamp on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla. When it dries, cut it out. I popped it on with Dimensionals. Next I made a fork bow (see my YouTube video on how to make a fork bow).
Then I added one of our NEW NEUTRALS CANDY DOTS!!! These are sooooo much fun. Do you see it? It's in the middle of the flower. This new product is so fun. They are just like our Pearls and Rhinestones. You scoop them up with your scissors and they are pre-glued so you just add them to your card. I added a Very Vanilla one here then surrounded that with the smallest pearls. What do you think?
