Fork Bow with Variations by Deb Valder

Hidy Ho Stampers,

The fork changed us forever!  It civilized us, of course, giving us table manners.  But the fork and its partner in crime, the knife, actually changed a lot more than that!  There are forks for the baby, there are forks for the toddler, there are forks for your salad and there are forks that make BOWS!  huh?

So is there ANYTHING we have in our house that we don't try to use in stamping?!

The card I posted yesterday had a Mini Fork Bow on it.

Spring Sampler

I had so many questions on the MINI Fork Bow that I decided to release one of my videos early!  It's #18 in my Series of Super Simple Stamping Tips with Deb Valder.   Remember if you are viewing this in your "inbox", you will need to go to YouTube (click here) to see it.  Youtube videos do not copy into the emails.  While you are in there check out all my other videos!!!!

I'm sure you've all done the fork bow before.  If you have, hopefully this will show you a little more!  So go pop the popcorn, settle in and watch my rendition of making the fork bow!

Wasn't that fork bow so stinken cute!?!!!

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to spend time reading my blog.  I do so appreciate it!  Have a sunny day!

Mini Fork Bow with Deb Valder

Hidy Ho Stampers,

Do you remember that show "Name that Tune?"  It was the TV show that was around in the 70's ( the original show was in the 1950's I think – waaaaaay too early for me).  It is where contestants were bidding to see who could "name that tune" in as few notes as possible.  Do you remember it now?   So here is my version of Name that Tune with "How small can you make your fork bow?"

Here is a mini fork bow!

Mini Fork Bow

ha ha ha ….it's done with two prongs of the fork!  It's so stinken cute.

The set I used is called "Spring Sampler" found on page 23 of the Stampin' Up! Hello Catalog.  If you look on the back of the catalog, you will see the products in this issue are only in there until May 31st.

Thank you for stopping by my little blog!  Have a super day!

Diva/Dude Day

Hidy Ho Stampers,

Well Saturday was my quarterly Diva/Dude Day.  We had to modify the name as we had TWO male teammates earn the title this time.  It was so much fun and everyone was so excited for both of them.  Diva/Dude Day was a concept that my friend Patsy Waggoner shared with me a few years ago and she shared at leadership this year. She was an amazing presenter!

My top 10 in sales and anyone that recruits for the quarter is invited to a very special stamping day.  I do all the preparation and they come and enjoy and stamp and eat!   Oh how we laughed!  So this is how it played out…

My daughter Kate got up in the morning and started prepping the food.

mmmmmmmm we had mini pies filled with cherries and some filled with apples.

found this on Pinterest – the dip is in the bottom and the veges are all in individual cups (so much easier).

Here is one of three tables filled with food.

The tables were set and ready for them to come.

Everyone had our new Twitterpated Fabric and Twitterpated Designer Series Paper and Blushing Bride Pleated Ribbon and Twitterpated Buttons and Maze Game pieces and more.

Here's Dude Chris along with Val and MaryMargaret.

They were all sewing and NO ONE was whining about it!  Believe it or not, they were all having FUN!

 More sewers.

more fun

more food!

Here is one of the cards I created for them to complete.

Supplies used:

Stamps: Fresh Vintage Stamp Set #125115 Wood Mount or 125117 Clear Mount FREE WITH A $50 order (click here to place an online order)

Ink:  Basic Grey

Accessories:  Labels Framelits (from the Occasions Mini Catalog); Twitterpated Buttons; Basic Grey Satin Ribbon for the Fork Bow; Basic Pearls, Dimensionals

 Here is a side view.

YEAH NEW YORK GIANTS!!!!

Okay so what was YOUR favorite Super Bowl commercial?  Mine was the M & M commercial when the one M & M took off his shell does that mean he was naked?!  :0)  He was so cute.

Holiday Happiness

Hidy Ho Stampers,

I just love this time of the year.  We've been decorating and baking all weekend.  The smells that come with this holiday are just scrumptious.  One of my favorite smells is fresh cut Christmas trees and their trimmings.  We decorated our freshly cut tree and put up our wreath on the front door.  I found a card on another site and it looked just like my front door so I had to copy it!  Here it is…

Supplies Used:

#119686 Early Espresso Card Stock

#119685 Cherry Cobbler Card Stock

#112534 5/16" Neutrals Jumbo Brads (Silver)

#123764 Clear Mount or #123762 Wood Mount Pines and Poinsettias Stamp Set  (2011 Holiday Mini)

#102283 Versa Mark Pad

#124114 Pewter Emobssing Powder  (2011 Holiday Mini)

#124108 Stitched Felt Winter Wishes (2011 Holiday Mini)

#124105 Cherry Cobbler 3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon  (2011 Holiday Mini)

#122334 Simply Scored Scoring Tool

#104294 Sticky Strip

To make the raised panels on the door, I made up a template.  I then penciled it on the back of the Cherry Cobbler Card Stock.

Then I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool #122334 to make the panels.  Notice how I used the markers at the top so I could line everything up.  I did several cards so it was easy peasy with my new tool.

I then turned it 90 degrees and connected the other lines.  When you turn it over, the panels are raised.  I will give a little hint on this card – you need Sticky Strip to adhere the felt.

Isn't this so stinken cute!  Love it.  fa la la la la la la la la  Hope you enjoyed my post, thank you for stopping by.

There are several of my clubs that do swaps (I love it)!  They are so talented I had to share a few of the cards with you…

I know this is a retired set but I just love the line drawing stamps, they are my favorite! Gorgeous card.

Jody used our Big Shot Plates and brayered Whisper White Craft Ink on the plate then ran it through the Big Shot!  I love it.

This one is a beautiful display of Big Shot Dies!
