Black Magic Technique Card

Hi Ladies,

Before I show you the Black Magic Technique card that they did at convention, I wanted to share with you what I did.  This past Sunday, my very best friend from Kindergarten asked me to join her in a trip to Burlington, Vermont (it's only a two hour drive from Saratoga, New York and a very beautiful drive when you stay awake to see it).  Her daughter's work was putting on a fundraiser and she asked if I wanted to join in the fun.  It was a GORGEOUS day to participate in Zoe's Race which was a 5K event (we walked of course)!

We did the 5K WALK!  I want to share some of my pictures with you.

This is a tree house they built in the park that is completely wheelchair accessible.

Ready, set….okay when are they going to go?  We were in the very back so we didn't get run over.

We got to walk along Lake Champlain.

All ages could walk or run…okay so the little girls are beating us.  Aren't they cute.

Here I'm holding the rock up or is it the other way around?  We are almost done.  This was one of the rocks that makes up the sun dial in the park.

So here's my kindergarten buddy, Kathy, and they best part of the race…getting Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream (Coffee Heath Bar Crunch)!mmmmmmm  They had all kinds of food for us to eat.

Here's Kathy's daughter Kaylan and boyfriend Josh.  Kaylan was one of the gals that organized the entire event.  She's such a doll.

Okay then we went into town and walked up and down Church Street.

They had statues all over of cows.  We have horses here in Saratoga but they have cows!  It was a fun day.

Okay here is the card I was telling you about.  It's called Black Magic and it's just beautiful.

It's done with my favorite set from the catalog "Just Believe".  You use Stampin' Up's watercolor pencils and gel pen.  There is some Newsprint DSP and our new pearls.  The backgroung is brayered. Just a beautiful job she did demonstrating it.

Well I'm off to my last workshop for the month.  Hope you enjoyed my post.  Stop back soon.

Demonstrator Get Together Project

Hi ladies,

Okay are your ready to see what we did today at my demonstrator get together?  It was something that was demonstrated at convention by one of my favorite Stampin' Up! employees - Carrie Cudney.  It was so much fun.  This is the finished project that I was showing you all the pieces to yesterday….so here it is.

This is the outside of the Reading Log

This is what the inside looked like, it is so adorable and the girls loved them.

Each pocket had an organizational insert, here is what was in pocket #1.

Here is what was in pocket #2

There were two of these in pocket #3 (you could add as many as you would need).  These are little logs for you to jot notes.

Close up of the inside.  They are put together with our new 1/8 taffeta ribbon.

And this is what was in the last pocket.

Supplies used -

Simply Scrappin Kit Love Birds (#118707)

Play Date Folders (#117170) found on page 180 of the big Stampin' Up Catalog

Serif Essentials Alphabet Die for the letters (#113464)

Sweet Shoppe Alphabet Lower Stamp Set (#120272 wood mount or 120648 clear mount)

1 1/4" striped Grosgrain Ribbon Pretty in Pink (#119775)

1/8" Taffeta Ribbon Early Espresso (#120931)

Flower Brads Subtles (#119732)

If you do not have a demonstrator or if you are one of my customers and would like to order any of these items, just contact me and I will add it to an order going in or you can simply click on the SHOP NOW button and order it online 24/7.

Besides doing this project, we also did 6 make and takes at the meeting that were OUT OF THIS WORLD.  These 6 projects were designed and presented by the girls in my group.  We also swapped and ate and just had so much fun.  I just love my group.

Hope you enjoyed my project…my demonstrators seemed to LOVE it at the meeting today.  We also brainstormed some great ideas if you didn't want to make a Reading Log – How about using it for a Christmas organizer – give each one of your children one of the log booklets, have them fill out their wish list and you have a great organizer and gift idea log to bring shopping with you.  How about using it for a "baby-to-be" organizer or a knitting log or well…you get it…you can use it for anything that you need to organize.  If you have any ideas on what this can be used for, just leave a comment so others can enjoy the different ideas.

Thank you for stopping  my my blog…hope you come back soon.

Elements of Style

Hi girls,

I wanted to share a card I received at convention as one of my swaps.  I just love this stamp set (The Element s of Style stamp set #120045 clear mount and 118611 wood mount).  This card is made with that set.

The colors used are Old Olive, So Saffron, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink and stamped with Black Stazon.  The punches are the wide oval, the large oval and the scallop oval!  Such a pretty card.  I love to swap cards with demonstrators.  You get such a variety of styles and colors.  So much fun and I get to share them all with you.

Okay, today I've been working on my cards for my Founders Swap,  are you ready to see my pile of what I've been working on?  I got all the base cards cut  and the first layer as well as one of the embellishments…okay here it is (remember I can't show you what the finished card looks like yet because someone may see it,  just know that all the club memebers that have seen it so far just loved it!  :0)

Can you guess the theme?  okay okay, it doesn't look like much but those are the beginnings of 135 cards!  WOW!

Anyway, thank you for stopping by and check back for updates!  Have a great night.

Did you know…

That our Pattern Designer Series Paper Stacks now come in EVERY color.  Remember in the old catalogs, Stampin' Up! selected which color they wanted to feature that year.  Well now you get stacks of the Designer Series Paper – 40 sheets in each pack.  If you choose the In Colors, you will get 4 sheets of each color (each color has 2 double sided designs) in all five colors (boy was that a mouth full – what you need to know is that you get 40 sheets)!

If you choose one of our collections, you will get 40 sheets also but 2 each of 2 double sided designs in 10 colors (oh heck…just know that you are getting 40 sheets here too)!  It's gorgeous paper. Check it out on page 175 of the new catalog.  If you don't have your catalog, let me know and we will get one to you!

So here are all the goodies I had to ship home because I did not have room in my suitcase.  UPS loves me!

Here is a close up of my free stamps.  I love free stamps.  I won quite a few of them because of my awards.

Here I am winning one of my awards…I came in 8th for Sales in the company and 9th for Demonstrator of the Year (Yippee I was in the top 10 for both of them).  Don't you just love my dress…I look like Betty Rubble (Barney's wife)!  Oh for those of you that don't know me…I'm the one second from the right with the brown and black circle dress :0)  My husband's name is not Barney though, it's Kevin.

Here are some of the gifts they gave me besides the FREE STAMPS!  Oh my gosh, I don't even know who Cole Haan is but I got his scarf and purse!  There is another diamond necklace and MORE FREE STAMPS!  :0)  Are you understanding why I had to ship this stuff home?  NO ROOM IN THE THREE SUITCASES I HAD!

Okay if you have followed anything from Stampin' Up's convention this year, you will KNOW that THIS is the most coveted bag there is.  THIS is the bag that everyone wants.  You could only buy one at convention.  They just released this morning a few more for the demonstrators to buy but there were only a few left…It's awesome…great for workshops and scrapbooking.

This is my favorite thing…it's my computer bag.  I bought one for me, one for Katie and I'm giving the rest to my downline that promote!  Incentive gifts.  I just love this bag!

Hope you enjoyed my post, I'll see you tomorrow.

At the end of the Convention on Saturday, we had another free give away!  What fun…as the demonstrators were getting their gifts, they were doing the wave while holding up their gift….look at how adorable they were…

Look at them doing the wave!

It was filled with awesome FREE product!  How neat is that.

Convention FUN FUN FUN

First, I'm going to work a little backwards.  I got home VERY late on Sunday night and when I walked into the house this is what I found.

Katie bought these for me from the Farmers Market in Saratoga Springs and made me my annual sign (everyone knows that my VERY favorite flower is the SUNFLOWER).  She made me cry.  It was so nice to see Kevin at the airport and give him a big hug and it was just nice to be home with my fabulous family, I missed them so much!!!!  I love to go away but I miss them when I'm gone!

And this is what I woke up to the next day….These were waiting for me  in the mud room!  I had them all sorted and put away before I left…then the UPS man snuck the rest of them in the week I was away.  That is what I will be doing on Wednesday after we go to the Farmer's Market and pick out new carpet for my living room.  Okay back to Convention…

The day before, we went over to the Convention Center and just looked around (the calm before the storm)!  So this is what the gathering place looked like.  Aren't the colors absolutely delicious!!!!!

The gathering place the night before the Convention opens.

Ohhhhh my gosh…so we started the days at 4:45 a.m. and didn't finish until at least 1:00 a.m.  Soooooo no time to post.  I'm going to try and catch you up…here we are in line to get into the building.  This is the Salt Palace.  It's a beautiful building.

This is so exciting.  Opening Day.  The day we meet up with old friends and get our bags and swap….so exciting.

All crazy good!

Then I picked up my Convention Bag.  Isn't it so cute!  It was FILLED with stamps and books and stuff!!!  GOOOD STUFF!!!!!

Then I went to the awards booth.  There is my SAM Natalie handing me my Founders Circle Bag!  SOOOOOO much fun.  It was FILLED with STAMPS and awards and pins!  oh my gosh!!!  Can it get much better…

YES YES YES….

Yes…SHOPPPPPPPPING at Momento Mall.  I needed a truck to get it all back to the hotel.  I did ship a lot of that stuff home TWO HUGE BOXES!!!  I can't wait, it gets here on Thursday!  YIPPEEEEEEEE

okay…I'll post more tomorrow….but boy was that fun!  Thank you for stopping by my blog and your patience in my posts!  See you tomorrow.

Convention Day 1

Oh my gosh…we are here in Salt Lake.  I just love coming to this town.  We met so many stampers in the airport and on our plane!  You can spot them a mile away!  So much fun.  Okay so when we got here, after eating lunch at the Lambs Grill (always stop by there)…we walked to the Hatch Family Chocolates  aka The Little People!  Have you seen their television show!  Just ask your kids…they have.  Anyway here are some pictures….I'M ACTUALLY TALLER THAN SOMEONE!!!!!

and now a sneak peak at what is going to happen tomorrow…this is the calm before the storm!

Look at these yummy colors…this is the gathering place.  A lot of things take place in this room but JUST LOOK AT THE COLORS…..It is even more beautiful up close and personal!  I just can't wait for tomorrow.

Stop by later on…I want to get this posted before the deadline but I will be adding to DAY 1.

UPDATE TO DAY 1:

This was such a fun thing to do.

Then we went to the convention center.  You saw my pictures above.  Wait until you see the difference between today and tomorrow.

Every year I try to do something very special with my downline (last year we took a limo ride to Stampin' Up! Home Offices).  This year I took them to the top of the world (well not really) we went to the very top of that builiding and we had the most beautiful dinner.  Look at the windows on the very top, that is where we were, the restaurant was called The Roof.

This was the entrance to the builiding…didn't I tell you it was gorgeous.

here I am on the grand staircase (do I look like I should be on the Titanic, okay work with me here!).

Even the ceiling was breathtaking – stained glass and chandeliers.  Just gorgeous!!!

Did I mention the scenery…we are at the top of the restaurant. So beautiful.

Thank you for stopping by my blog I hope you enjoyed it!  Make sure you stop by tomorrow for pictures of the bag we get and all the other stuff!!!  Night!!!
